Curious George is an animated show based on the books by H.A. Rey and Margret Rey. The series follows a mischievous monkey, and his best friend, The Man in the Yellow Hat.
In each episode, George would go out into the world and explore. Yet, his curiosity often landed him in trouble. Luckily, The Man in the Yellow Hat was always there to lend a hand and make sure the monkey never came to any harm.
That’s until one fateful April morning. George found himself in a situation that he couldn’t walk away from unscathed.
At this point, you may wonder, how did Curious George die? If that’s the case, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, I’ll take you through the events of the tragic day when we had to say goodbye to the monkey.
The Night Before The Murder of Curious George
Curious George would frequently get into trouble because of his inquisitive nature. Sadly, this would be the reason behind his untimely demise.
On April 24th, George was feeling extra energetic. So, he was jumping around The Man in the Yellow Hat’s home, tearing everything apart.
By the time the sun set, the apartment was completely trashed. Yet, George didn’t stop there.
He grabbed his best friend’s yellow hat and turned it into a scrumptious casserole. Unfortunately, what he thought would be a delicious meal turned into a recipe for disaster.
The Man in the Yellow Hat was understandably upset, but he decided to take the high road. For that reason, he cleaned up the apartment and then went to bed.
The Morning of Curious George’s Murder
The morning of April 25th, 2023, started like any other normal day. George was walking around The Man in the Yellow Hat’s apartment. He was going about his routine, getting ready for the day.
Then, as he was wrapping up his daily tasks, George glanced out the window. He noticed a peculiar van, labeled “free candy” that belonged to Vanna White. So, true to his curious nature, George went out to investigate.
To his disappointment, Vanna set him aside and refused to let him in the van. That’s because White was using the vehicle to kidnap children. Since George wasn’t human, Vanna had no interest in him.
A few minutes later, The Man in the Yellow Hat woke up from a power nap. He went around the apartment looking for George, but he’d already left to investigate the van.
Since the Man was already upset from the previous night, this sent him into a fit of rage. He was tired of George’s behavior and his disregard for the rules.
So, The Man in the Yellow Hat went on a walk to find his monkey companion. At around 6:60 a.m., he spotted George furiously humping a fire hydrant.
Embarrassed and infuriated, The Man in the Yellow Hat stabbed a bus driver 37 times and took control of his bus.
Then, he made a speedy U-turn and headed straight for George. Before anyone knew what was happening, the Man had run over the monkey with the bus, crushing all his bones in the process.
Later, surveillance cameras reportedly recorded The Man in the Yellow Hat snorting George’s bones.
Despite his tragic end, people all over the globe will remember George as a beloved character who brought an endless amount of joy to their lives.
